LEARN: HSL Color

Hue, Saturation, and Lightness, HSL, is one of many programming choices for color format, acceptable in all the major browsers. Other choices in color format exist, common across the web: RGB, CMYK, and HWB. HSL allows choice of color (the hue) similar to picking a color from a color wheel. The hue is then manipulated by its color saturation and lightness.

Three color bands make up a color picker box. Moving the saturation and lightness sliders provide all variations supporting the hues red (Hue: 0), green ( Hue: 120 ), and blue (Hue: 240).
